Acupuncture

Acupuncture treatment involves the insertion of fine, sterile, single use, disposable needles into specific sites (acupuncture points) along the body’s energy pathways (meridians) to clear energy blockages and encourage the normal flow of energy, or Qi, through the body.

Massage therapy

Chris typically does massage therapy before acupuncture in the same session, as the massage helps to relax the body which can improve the body’s receptiveness to acupuncture. Massage assists with treating symptoms related to musculoskeletal aches and pains, injury recovery and stress.

Cupping therapy

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine, which helps with symptoms associated with pain, inflammation, poor blood flow and stress, among others. Special heated cups are placed on to the skin for a few minutes to create the suction.

Moxa therapy

Acupuncture and moxa therapy are often done in the same session when appropriate to the treatment strategy, as they can increase effectiveness when used together. It is a form of heat therapy in which dried plant materials called ‘moxa’ are burned near the surface of the skin, warming and invigorate the flow of Qi in the body.

Electro-stimulation

Electroacupuncture is intended to help increase the potential effects of standard acupuncture. It stimulates the points linked to your symptoms. Two needles are placed around the point while a machine delivers a mild electrical impulse to them.

Chinese herbal therapy

The origins of Chinese herbal medicine can be traced back at least 5,000 years. Chinese herbal medicine takes a natural and holistic approach to healthcare. Chris uses the ChinaMed® range, which is manufactured under Australian Good Manufacturing Practice standards, which are regulated by the TGA.
